Define Multimedia and Explain its Components in detail.

Multi media word is made from two words Multi which means many and Media which means medium through which information is conveyed.so, Multimedia is a combination of two or more media i.e Text, Audio, Video, Animation, and Graphics/Images.

1. Text: Text is a character or letter which is a basic element of multimedia. It involves the use of text types, sizes, colours, and background colours. Texts are used to create words, sentences, and paragraphs. The most common file format for text is .txt
2. Graphics or Images: An image is a spatial representation of an object. The image is drawn manually or by painting in 2D or in 3D format. Digital image files use a variety of formats and file extensions which can be jpg, PNG, GIF, etc.
3. Audio: A multimedia application may require the recording of voice, music, and sound effect, and these elements are called Audio. Audio file format includes MP3, WMA, and RealAudio.
4. Video: The video is nothing but it is a moving picture that we can see visually on the screen. The video makes viewers entertained as well as understanding. Common digital video formats include mp4, AVI, etc.
5. Animation: Animation is a process of making a static image look like it is moving. In multimedia, digital animation is used. Animation can also include interactive effects, allowing users to engage with the animation using their mouse and keyboard.

Advantages of Multimedia
